Drinks at Panchos

Amy and I split off from the family and walked around Cozumel. We found this very nice mexican restaurant called Panchos Backyard and had drinks. Posted by Picasa

Cozumel

Here we are in Cozumel having lunch. We rented jeeps and drove around to the far side of the island and found this picturesque place. The water was so blue it looked fake. Posted by Picasa

Jake GQ Ober possing for pictures. Do you think that JaKy and Karen might have some influence on this shot. Hmmmmmm..... Maybe? Posted by Picasa

In Line for Pictures, Again

Here we are in line for pictures again. The cruise had this one down pat. They get you dressed up and had photographers all over the boat taking different pictures. JaKy and Karen were professional by the end. They would go around and see how many pictures of them they could get taken. I have a feeling the photographers were not too upset. Posted by Picasa

Babe on a beach

After snorkling Amy and I went in search of a beach. A short way further to the left we found a small public beach we had to ourselves. Gorgeous and the beach is nice too. Posted by Picasa

Post Snorkling in the Grand Caymans

We went snorkling at a place called Hammerheads just to the left of the dock in Grand Cayman. It cost less then the boat tours and while we were snorkling boats drove up and started dropping off people who had paid for snorkling on the boat. Life is good. Posted by Picasa

The Rabbit of Bristal

The room steward on the cruise would make all kinds of interesting shapes and things with towels and blankets. Here he was recreating the famous scene in Monty Pythons the Quest for the Holy Grail. "What's he going to do? Bite me on the bum?" "Look at the bones man!!" Posted by Picasa

Dinner Again!

Food and cameras were quite the rage on the cruise. I think by the end of the cruise we had 1.4 Gigs of pictures between Jen, Dad and I. I love digital photography. Posted by Picasa

ThE sMiLe

Here is JaKy "ThE sMiLe" ObEr at her best. Everytime a camera was pointed at Jaky she would break into smile mode. Posted by Picasa

We were walking around Key West and found this very interesting Banyon tree. It spanned three yards so this is just the tip of the iceberg. Posted by Picasa

This is the famous shoe picture. We were waiting on formal pictures and this picture kind of sprang out of the ether. The shoes (and feet) belong to Amy, Marion, Jacqueline and Karen. Can you guess whose is whose? Posted by Picasa

Monday Ride

Amy and I rode about 8 miles today in 45 minutes on the Oyster Creek Trail near our house. It was a very nice evening for riding as it was overcast and there was a very nice breeze. We averaged about 10 mi/hr and rode the entire distance.

Saturday Ride

Amy and I went bike riding at the George Bush Park today. We wanted to check it out and see if we would want to bring out her horses at a later date. The area was very nice and I think we will be bringing out the horses later. We rode a total of 12 miles in about 1 hour 15 minutes. It is very flat but not too crowded. We rode to Highland Knolls and Fry rode and then a little past the equestrian parking. I am very interested in trying to ride from my parents house to Jennfer's house over these trails and back. (Maybe with a little bit of a rest at Jen's?)

Glengarry Glen Ross

Amy and I went to the Alley Theatre and saw Glengarry Glen Ross this evening. We met my parents at Mingalone Italian restaurant. Amy had the Ravioli's with Butternut squash in them, which everyone thought was the best dish. The play was a little heavy on profanity but it was very funny and enjoyable.

Two Rows with Wyatt

Amy and I went to Two Rows tonight and took Wyatt with us. We met Sara, Karl and James there and had a few drinks. We had a blast as always and Wyatt was a hit. We had several people come up just to meet Wyatt. Dogs are always good ice breakers. I think Wyatt had as much fun as we did.

17.7 Miles, Man!

My father and I rode our bikes this afternoon for 17.7 miles. We rode the entire Terry Hershey Park from Beltway 8 to Hwy 6 and back. At Hwy 6 we discovered that it continues in the George Bush Park. It looks like we can ride all the way to my sister's house in Katy as that trail ends at Fry road and Highland Knolls. Unfortunately the trail in the George Bush Park appears to be gravel so my father's road bike would not work out very well. He might just have to break down and get a mountain bike. :-) The ride took us 1 hour and about 40 minutes and we hit a peak speed of 24 mph. I have to say I am really enjoying riding.

Eastside University Village Community Learning Center

Yesterday several of my staff and I helped setup a network for the Eastside University Village Community Learning Center.Link Bert Mikosh and Doron Maghet were indespensible in making it all happen and come together. Together we installed and setup 42 new HP computers with 17" LCD monitors. The systems were loaded with Windows XP and Office 2003. We also brought up a active directory domain server to allow them to have centralized authentication and data storage. We were joined by several other UH staff members and Technology For All people too. It was very enjoyable and everyone had a good time making it all happen.

Winter Wonderland

Amy, her sister and I stayed over the last night and left the next morning. When we got up we discovered a pristine white world. I could not have asked for a better trip to the great white north. Amy does look beautiful in front of the lovely white background. Posted by Picasa
