Christmas is here!

This has been a fantastic year for me! Finding Amy, getting engaged, getting MARRIED! Wow what a fantastic ride. When ever I get to the Christmas holidays I always think of family and this year is extra special because my family has increased by a bunch. Amy is now my life and home but I also have a new brother and mother. I am very grateful for what I have and the people that I share my life with. I love you Amy! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

The Joneses

Here we are the new Joneses enjoying an excellent evening with our friends. Thank you Ian for providing us with one of the best meals I have ever had. Amy was beautiful tonight and I felt like the luckiest guy at the dinner. :-)

James at the Brew Master Dinner

This is a very happy James after eating a meal to die for. He was the only one to finish his entire lamb shank and then he began to eye everyone elses. :-)

Brew Master Dinner at Two Rows

We got invited to go to the Brew Master dinner at Two Rows by our friends Sara, Carl and James. Ian of Two Rows prepared a fantastic dinner. The first course was various types of cheese and fruit with a lighter beer. The second course was crab stuffed mushroom caps with cheese. The third course was very rare tuna with a washabi sauce that was out of this world. The fourth course was a slow cooked lamb shank that just fell off the bone and some very tasty mashed sweet potatos. The dessert was chocolate truffles. Man we waddled out of there!

Riding Shiloh

Amy and Shiloh on Sunday morning before BarBQ at Bert's house. I am not sure why this picture came out so dark as it was a nice morning but there it is. After this Amy and I headed over to Bert's house to have BarBQ and hang out with our friends. It was a pretty much all Brotherhood of the Braclet event.

Mr. and Mrs. Victor T Jones IV

Amy and I tied the knot on August 19, 2006 at 3:00pm. We had a small family wedding that was planned in a very short period but was very beautiful. We do not have all of our pictures today so we are going to be getting the rest tonight. I figured that everyone would want to see at least one picture of the very happy couple. Amy looked gorgeous in her wedding dress and I am a VERY lucky guy. :-) Posted by Picasa

Briery at level 58

Well this is a screen capture of my human warrior at level 58 on his trusty steed Shiloh(?). :-) I decided to leave on the interface so that you can see the way I change my interface using addons. Just a bit more work and I will be max level of 60! Ot course then the expansion will be out and I will have 10 more levels to go. My next highest level character is only 24 so I have lots of play left in this game. Very cool.

Me riding Shiloh

After Amy rode Shiloh I decided I would try also. We walked around the arena together pretty as you please. He was a perfect gentleman! I have to say the Shiloh has turned out to be a fantastic horse. For more pictures see: http://picasaweb.google.com/vtjones/ShilohRide1

Sunset at Mill Creek Campgrounds

On our last night in Mackinaw City we had a spectacular sunset.

Waiting on the Boat

Here we are waiting on our boat ride back off this very awesome island. We are both sad to be leaving but we both plan to make coming here in the future a regular thing to celebrate our engagement.

High Tea at the Grand Hotel

We decided to have High Tea at the Grand Hotel before we left Mackinaw Island for the last time. What a spread.

Fort Mackinac

Mom and Dad came over again for lunch and we all went up to see Fort Mackinac. Hmmmm.. what a bunch of hams.

The Horses

The next morning while walking around the island we ran into our driver Molly from the previous day. We thought we would get a picture of the horses from the front. :-) They are Misty and Smokey.

Cupola Bar

Amy and I ended our perfect evening at the Cupola Bar at the very top of the hotel. We had drinks and watched the sunset. It is hard to believe that I am now engaged to such a wonderful woman.

Five Course Dinner

A full five course dinner and breakfast was included as part of our room. I had venison chops and Amy had rabbit stew. Everything was excellent.

The Ring

Now that is some serious bling!

Romance Package

I got the champagne as part of a romance package from the Grand Hotel. The rest of it was waiting for us in our very loud hotel room. Large Yellow Roses? Man!

Drinks to Celebrate

Now that Amy and I are engaged Molly pulled out the bottle of champagne that I had arranged to have on the carriage ride. Thanks Molly and the folks at the Grand Hotel for all of your help in making this moment one Amy and I will never forget.

The Answer!

SHE SAID YES!!!

The Question!

We stopped at Look out point and I got out so that Molly could take a picture of us and decided to pop the question there. The top picture showing my face was taken by another couple who witnessed the proposal. They very nicely sent me a copy of their picture once they got home.

On the Ride

We are now on the carriage ride and the driver, Molly, was very nice. She and Amy hit it off right away so even though Amy now knows I booked a private tour she stills does not seem to suspect my cunnning plan.

Waiting on our carriage ride

Once we got there my plan began to unfold. The concierge said, "You two have a carriage ride scheduled." Uh oh. I was afriad that Amy would have me figured out but while waiting in the huge porch she said, "I want to ride up front so I can ask questions". YES she thinks we are going on a group tour. :-)

The Grand Hotel

We get our first look at the very beautiful Grand Hotel. Look at those tulips. Wow.

Amy is in Love

Amy felt right at home as soon as we got on the island. Horses everywhere!

On the boat to Mackinaw Island

Amy and I being wind blown on the way to Mackinaw. That wind is cold!

Bill gets his due

We threw Uncle Bill in the Lake!

Family

This is of Brian, Amy, Elizabeth and John on the look out tower at the porcupine mountains. This was a new trail that we did not do last time. What a view! 142 steps up and 7 down. Uncle Bill lied!

Porcupine Mountains

We took my parents on the hike through the Porcupine mountains that Amy and I went on when we were there last time.

Roasting Marshmallows

We spent two days at Shingles with Andrews. The first night we had a fire down by spider lake and roasted marshmallows. In the background you can see the dogs Gus and Jessie. Gus was determined to make Jessie his girl friend much to the amusement of the crowd and to Jessie's disgust.

Paul Bunyans

We had a massive breakfast family style with pretty much all of Amy's family at a place near Mercer, Wi called Paul Bunyan's. They just keep bring out food until you yell UNCLE!!!

World of Warcraft

Two of my friends kept trying to get Amy and I to start playing World of Warcraft which is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORG). After christmas I had some money on a gift card to Best Buy and I figured why not. I did not figure myself for playing one of these games regularly. Well I guess I was wrong. Amy and I play very regulary with Bert, Bert's wife Gayle, Danny and AMy's brother John. It is fun to congregate online and play with your friends. I have also brought up a TeamSPeak2 server that allows us all to talk to each other of the Internet while we play. This is a screen shot of one of my alternate characters TheTick, a night elf hunter with his trusty animal companion Orion.
